Safari & Beach Escape

This is our biggest single-trip circuit: Masai Mara for the game drives everyone comes for, Lake Nakuru for rhino and flamingos, Amboseli for elephants against Kilimanjaro, Tsavo East for the red-dust wilderness, and then we drop you at Diani to do absolutely nothing for a few days. One trip, most of what Kenya does best.

Suggested itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara, evening game drive
Day 2: Full day Mara game drives
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Nakuru
Day 4: Nakuru game drive, transfer to Lake Naivasha for a boat ride and Hell's Gate visit
Day 5: Transfer to Amboseli, afternoon game drive
Day 6: Transfer to Tsavo East, evening game drive
Day 7: Morning game drive, drive to Diani for beach drop-off

Destinations

Maasai Mara

The reserve most people mean when they ask for 'a Kenya safari' — wide open plains, resident lion and cheetah, and for a few months each year, the wildebeest migration thundering through.

Amboseli National Park

Elephant herds roam right out in the open here, with Kilimanjaro's snow-capped peak rising behind them on a clear morning. It's one of the most photographed views in the country.

Tsavo East & West

Kenya's biggest park by a long way, split into East and West, known for elephants that turn rust-red from the iron-rich dust and for wilderness you can drive through for hours without meeting another vehicle.

Lake Nakuru

A compact soda lake ringed by cliffs. Depending on water levels you might find thousands of flamingos here, and there's a well-protected sanctuary for both black and white rhino.

Diani Beach

Most of our guests end their trip here: white sand, warm turquoise water and a reef close enough to snorkel from the beach.
